The center of informational and innovative technologies was found in the year 1986. In the middle of 80-s of the past century, learners of secondary schools started to learn new discipline – informatics and computer engineering, for what it was necessary to train teachers of subjects given below. The institute for training teachers of informatics in secondary schools with the aim of using the complex of educational and computing equipment (CECE) in the learning process was equipped with the necessary computing equipment, including the first computers.
It is necessary to emphasize the work of PhD and candidate of physical and mathematical sciences, professor K.B.Bektayev, who was the first who entered the computing equipment into the education system not only of South Kazakhstan region, and as well as the whole Kazakhstan too. He founded the Department of math and computer engineering and directed it. K.B.Bektayev’s innovation is, that he united linguistics and computer engineering, became the establisher of new school, which nowadays is bearing his name, in linguistics and computer engineering. K.B.Bektayev’s experiences started to be used in secondary schools of other countries in USSR.
At first the laboratory was developed for entering technical equipment into the learning process and installation of it at the Department of Math and Computer equipment. In 1994 the laboratory was divided from the Department of Math and Computer engineering and engaged educational works itself. The first director of the Department was the candidate of physical and mathematical sciences B.Sapiyev. In 1996-2011 academic years this department was reorganized for several times – computer center, computing center, the center of entering of innovative technologies and informational analysis, which were directed by PhD R.Kadyrbayeva, P.Altynbekova, M.Sadyrbayev and K.Mamayev.
The center employs qualified specialists - site administrator A. Kaldarov, chief administrator J. Bazarkulov, database administrator A. Kalambaev, administrator of Internet resources Ramankulov A, printing director N. Ablaev, designer N. Utenov, electronic engineers E. Kadyrbaev, electronic engineer system engineer N. Tolek, engineers such as N. Nurlybaev, O. Berdibekov, operators G. Sembekova, A. Yarmuhamedova, Zh. Kalybai, A. Zhumzhaeva.
From 2011 to the present, the university has 647 units of computer equipment, including 279 personal computers, 25 laptops and 343 monoblocks. Also available are 5 scanners, 226 laser printers, 8 color printers, two XYZhdprint 3D printers, 4 multimedia podiums, 10 A3 format copiers, 79 interactive whiteboards, 8 mobile multimedia projectors, 1 FANTON4 drone, 4 digital video cameras, 2 sublimation printers (for printing on plastic cards).
In 2019, 2 innovative IT classes were opened with the BilimLand educational platform, containing 2 sets of BilimBook personal teaching device for teaching staff, two 65-inch interactive television panels, 40 pcs. BilimBook Light - laptops for students. In addition, the university has 2 robotics laboratories equipped with 8 Mindstorms Education EV3 LEGO robots for 16-24 students, 10 sets.
In the framework of the state program “Modernization of teacher education”, with the support of the International Development Bank, in 2019, a laboratory was created from 6 monoblocks, 10 FisherTechnik robotic kits, 10 Arduino robotic kits, 2 Robotrek kits, a K2030 CNC device, Anet3d 3D printer, as well as tools and devices for assembly and maintenance of microchips.
There are many opportunities for quality training in the modern educational process using modern broadband Internet access.
